Healthy Granola Recipe (low calories)
This homemade granola is sweet, crunchy, chewy and healthy. Mix and match and customize this recipe as per your preference. Your are going to absolutely love it!
Servings: 12 servings
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup nuts and/ or seeds I used almonds and chia seeds
- 1/2 cup dried fruit I used unsweetened cranberries
- 1/2 tsp spices I used cinnamon
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 tsp coarse sea salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil or coconut oil
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl mix the granola, nuts, seeds, cinnamon and salt together.
To this mixture add the olive oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract and mix well so that all the oats and nuts are well coated.
Bake the granola in the oven for 20-22 minutes, stirring it halfway. At the end of 20 minutes it should be a nice golden brown color.
Add the raisins and pop it back in the oven for 2 more minutes.
Pull out the tray from the oven and let the granola completely cool. It will continue to cook as it cools down.
Once completely cool, store in air tight container for 4 weeks.
